Nearly ten years into her marriage with Banky W, Adesua Etomi-Wellington is opening up about how her reality differs from the “ideal husband” checklist she once held.
In a candid sit-down on the Teju Babyface interview show alongside her husband, Adesua shared that her initial criteria for a partner did not include any of the careers Banky W is known for today. She explained that she eventually moved forward with the relationship because she felt a sense of divine direction.
“Before I met my husband, I told God I didn’t want to marry a musician, a pastor or a politician, but God gave me all three,” she remarked during the interview.
Banky W also shed light on the early days of their pursuit, noting that it took some time for Adesua to share his level of certainty.
While he had been convinced she was “the one” for about eighteen months, he waited patiently for her to reach the same conclusion after several initial rejections.
Recalling the breakthrough moment, Banky W said, “Adesua called me on the phone one day and said, Banky, you know you’re my husband right?”
He noted that this phone call served as the final confirmation he needed, solidifying their path toward the altar. The couple eventually tied the knot in 2017 and have since welcomed two children into their family.
