Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested a man in Kaduna State for allegedly impersonating a retired Major General, military sources have disclosed.
The suspect was apprehended on June 11 by troops of the 312 Artillery Regiment deployed at the Strike Force Base in the Sabo area of Kaduna, following credible intelligence reports. Military sources confirmed that the suspect had been posing as a retired Major General and is currently in custody undergoing preliminary investigation.
Authorities said the suspect would be handed over to appropriate security agencies for further investigation and possible prosecution upon completion of initial military procedures.Investigators are also working to establish the motive behind the alleged impersonation and determine whether accomplices may have been involved in the scheme.
