Leandro Trossard’s late goal handed Arsenal a hard-fought 1-0 victory over West Ham United at London Stadium on Sunday, moving the Gunners five points clear at the top of the Premier League.

The Belgian winger struck in the 83rd minute to settle an intense London derby and hand Mikel Arteta’s side a crucial three points in their bid for a first league title in over two decades.

West Ham made Arsenal work for every moment, but the hosts were denied a deserved equaliser deep into stoppage time when a 95th-minute goal was ruled out following a foul on goalkeeper David Raya.

The controversial decision sparked furious protests from the West Ham bench, but the result stood — and Arsenal’s title dreams remain firmly intact.

With reigning champions Manchester City now five points adrift and only two games remaining, the Gunners are firmly in the driving seat. A win in either of their final fixtures could be enough to seal the title.

Arsenal could be crowned Premier League champions as early as May 18 — and after years of near misses, the Emirates faithful finally dare to believe.
