Air Peace has temporarily suspended its Lagos–London Gatwick service after a routine post-boarding check uncovered a minor technical fault on the aircraft.

The airline disclosed this in a statement on Saturday, noting that the fault was detected after passengers had already boarded, prompting an immediate withdrawal of the aircraft from service.

Engineers were deployed to attend to the issue while all passengers were safely disembarked.”Following the completion of passenger boarding, a routine post-boarding technical check identified a minor aircraft fault that required immediate attention,” the airline said.Air Peace said the decision to ground the flight, though inconvenient, was consistent with its safety-first policy.

“At Air Peace, the safety and wellbeing of our passengers and crew will always take precedence over operational schedules,” the statement read.Affected passengers were provided with hotel accommodation and other support services while arrangements were made to resume the flight.

The airline announced that a replacement aircraft would be dispatched from London to operate the delayed service, with passengers scheduled to depart the same morning.

“To minimise further disruption, a replacement aircraft from London will be dispatched and passengers are scheduled to depart this morning,” Air Peace added.

The carrier thanked passengers for their patience, reaffirming its commitment to safe and reliable operations.
