Beheaded woman found dead In Abuja uncompleted building

Residents of the Bwari community in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) were left in deep shock on Saturday following the discovery of an unidentified, middle-aged woman’s beheaded body inside an uncompleted building.

The horrific find came to light after locals noticed a strong, foul odor coming from the abandoned structure. Upon investigating the source, they stumbled upon the decomposing corpse and immediately alerted the rest of the neighborhood.

One resident, who spoke anonymously, noted that the state of the body suggested the murder had occurred roughly two days prior.
“The offensive smell coming from the building attracted the attention of people living nearby. When we entered the building, we found the woman’s body without her head,” the resident explained.

Another member of the community pointed out that clues at the scene hinted at a violent struggle before the victim was overpowered. Ropes found near the corpse and a blanket allegedly used to move the body suggested she may have been bound.

“We could not identify the woman because her head was missing. There was rope around her body, and it appeared she struggled before she was killed,” the resident stated, adding that significant swelling and bruises on her limbs further indicated she fought back against her assailants.

Expressing deep anxiety over the area’s deteriorating safety, the resident added, “It was terrible. Insecurity is getting out of hand. We are worried about the safety of our families and children.”

Another local, Ibrahim Dogo, noted that bloodstains were visible inside one of the rooms of the uncompleted building, alongside a blood-soaked blanket.

He speculated that the victim might have been lured into the structure before the assault, though law enforcement has yet to confirm this theory.

Officers from the Bwari Divisional Police Headquarters later arrived to evacuate the remains.
Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a police officer confirmed that the station received a distress call on Saturday afternoon regarding the grim discovery.

The officer stated that the body has since been deposited at the Bwari General Hospital, and an investigation is officially underway to determine the woman’s identity and the exact circumstances behind her death.
