The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has dismissed a lawsuit seeking to bar former President Goodluck Jonathan from contesting the 2027 presidential election, describing the suit as a gross abuse of court processes.

In a decisive ruling, the court not only threw out the case but also awarded N20 million in costs against the plaintiff, directing that the sum be paid in favour of Jonathan.

The judgment effectively clears the legal path for the former president should he choose to seek a return to the nation’s highest office in 2027.
