Iran struck Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Qatar and Oman on Sunday, retaliating after the US carried out its third round of strikes on Iranian territory in a week. Tehran’s Revolutionary Guards said they hit US-linked military sites in Jordan, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar, while the UAE intercepted incoming missiles and drones and explosions were reported in Doha.

The clashes followed Iran’s closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital shipping route, after accusing Washington of breaching a recent ceasefire agreement. US forces said they hit 140 Iranian targets, part of over 300 struck across three nights, aiming to protect commercial shipping.

The fighting has effectively collapsed the truce, driving global energy prices higher even as diplomatic talks continue in Oman.
