Nigerian Afrobeats star Rema and South African singer Tyla are among a star-studded lineup of global artists confirmed to perform at the 2026 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony in Los Angeles.

FIFA announced the full lineup on Saturday, revealing that Rema and Tyla will share the stage with American rapper Future, pop icon Katy Perry, Brazilian singer Anitta, and BLACKPINK member LISA at the Los Angeles Stadium.

The football governing body disclosed that the 2026 tournament, which expands to 104 matches across 16 host cities in Canada, Mexico and the United States, will open with three separate ceremonies across the three host nations for the first time in World Cup history.

The first ceremony will be held in Mexico City on June 11, with Toronto and Los Angeles hosting theirs on June 12. FIFA said the events would blend football, music and entertainment in what it described as a celebration of a historic tournament across North America. “Global superstars Katy Perry, Future, Anitta, LISA, Rema and Tyla will headline the celebrations in Los Angeles, with additional world-renowned artists still to be announced,” FIFA said in a statement.

“Together, they will bring the sound of the FIFA World Cup 2026 to life for a global audience, delivering a high-energy spectacle that reflects the scale, ambition and cultural power of the tournament itself.

“FIFA President Gianni Infantino said the lineup was a deliberate reflection of America’s cultural richness and the unifying force of music.”The lineup of artists reflects the cultural diversity of the United States and the vibrancy of its many diasporas, highlighting the nation’s rich influence on music, entertainment and pop culture, while showcasing the power of music to bring people together,” Infantino said.

The Los Angeles ceremony, produced in partnership with Balich Wonder Studio, will begin 90 minutes before kick-off and will feature immersive storytelling, live performances and large-scale visuals centred around the FIFA World Cup Trophy. Fans have been urged to arrive early for pre-match entertainment and activities.
