Suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists have set fire to primary and secondary school buildings in Kautikari village, Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State, security sources confirmed Saturday. The attackers stormed the community around 7pm, forcing residents to flee into nearby bushes. No casualties were recorded.

“No casualty so far but residents were forced to flee into the bush for safety,” a security source said. A community resident noted the village had been attacked before, but without property destruction. “I wonder why they set ablaze the Primary School and Day Secondary School. Such attacks are unusual,” he said.

The development comes weeks after pupils of Mussa Primary and Junior Secondary School in Askira-Uba were abducted and remain unaccounted for nearly a month later.
