Suspected gunmen have kidnapped Pastor Gbenga Sanny, a cleric with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), in Ondo State.
The abduction took place on Sunday evening around 7:00 PM right in front of the pastor’s home in the Ilu-Abo community, located within the Akure North Local Government Area. Alongside his pastoral duties, Sanny is also an employee of the Akure North Local Government Area.
According to local sources, three armed men suddenly emerged from a nearby bush and seized Sanny right in front of his children before dragging him away to an unknown destination. His wife managed to escape the assailants during the ambush.

A source close to the situation noted that the attackers moved with precision and speed before vanishing with the victim.
The Ondo State Police Command has officially confirmed the incident and initiated an investigation.
The command’s spokesperson, Jimoh Abayomi, stated that police officers alongside specialized tactical teams have been deployed to the area. Their immediate mission is to track down the kidnappers and secure the safe release of the abducted cleric.
Search and rescue efforts remain ongoing.
