The Independent National Electoral Commission has released the official final list of presidential and vice-presidential flagbearers contesting in Nigeria’s upcoming 2027 general elections.

Signed by the commission’s secretary, Rose Oriaran-Anthony, the publication details 18 candidate pairs cleared across different political parties following the conclusion of party primaries conducted between April 23 and May 30, 2026.

Incumbent President Bola Tinubu represents the All Progressives Congress, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar runs under the African Democratic Congress, and former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi features on the ticket for the Nigeria Democratic Congress. Other candidates include Oyo State Governor Oluseyi Makinde for the Allied Peoples Movement, Sandy Ojang Onor for the Peoples Democratic Party, former Cross River State Governor Donald Duke for the Peoples Redemption Party, and Omoyele Sowore for the African Action Congress.

The remaining presidential contenders consist of Rufai Adekunle Omo-Aje (AA), Abbas-Bin Aliyu (ADP), Yusuf Kabiru (APP), Sunday Adenuga (BP), Adebisi Olusoji (DLA), Sunday Okereke (LP), Adewole Adebayo (SDP), Peter Agada (YPP), and Nwanyanwu Daberechukwu (ZLP).

Women feature on the ballot with two presidential candidates: Ada Elizabeth Frederick Okwori of the National Democratic Party and Nkem Esther Okereke of the National Rescue Movement. Additionally, four women were cleared as running mates: Peace Egobia (APP), Nafisat Usaku (DLA), Hajja Konto (LP), and Patience Key (YPP).

The cleared presidential candidates range in age from 35 to 79 years, while vice-presidential candidates span between 35 and 80 years. The oldest presidential contender on the list is 79 years old, followed by a candidate at 74, while the youngest is 35-year-old Moses Adebisi of the DLA. No candidates declared any disability on their filings.

The electoral timetable was updated to align with the Electoral Act 2026. Presidential and National Assembly elections are set for Saturday, January 16, 2027, followed by the governorship and State Houses of Assembly polls on February 6, 2027.
