FIFA has released the official squad lists for the 2026 World Cup, confirming player selections for all 48 participating nations ahead of the tournament co-hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States, which kicks off on June 11, 2026.
A total of 1,248 players have been named across all nations, with 891 making their World Cup debut and 357 returning from previous tournaments.
Africa will be represented by ten nations — Algeria, Cabo Verde, DR Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Ghana, Morocco, Senegal, South Africa, and Tunisia — each arriving with squads packed with talent from top clubs across the world.
Algeria will rely on the experience of Riyad Mahrez and the creativity of Houssem Aouar and Ibrahim Maza, while Egypt boasts their greatest weapon in Mohamed Salah, supported by Omar Marmoush in a potent attacking line.
Morocco, Africa’s strongest outfit on paper, call upon Achraf Hakimi, Sofyan Amrabat, and Brahim Díaz, while Senegal bring the legendary Sadio Mané alongside rising stars Pape Matar Sarr and Lamine Camara.
Ghana’s squad features Thomas Partey in midfield and a dynamic attack led by Inaki Williams, Antoine Semenyo, and Fatawu Issahaku, while Côte d’Ivoire will count on Franck Kessié, Seko Fofana, and Amad Diallo to make their mark.
DR Congo arrive with Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Yoane Wissa, and Cédric Bakambu, while Tunisia present a youthful but experienced squad headlined by Hannibal Mejbri and Ellyes Skhiri.
South Africa and Cabo Verde complete Africa’s representation, both eager to announce themselves on the grandest stage in football.
