A Flydubai Boeing 737 on its way from Dubai to Tel Aviv made an emergency landing in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, on Wednesday after its two pilots reportedly got into a physical fight.
Flight FZ1073 sent a general emergency signal, then a second signal indicating possible unlawful interference, which is commonly linked to hijackings. An Israeli official told Reuters the signals followed a scuffle between the pilots.
The plane landed safely, and Flydubai said all passengers were accounted for and safe. The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office said the situation was under control and that arrangements were being made to return the passengers to Israel.
The cause of the confrontation is under investigation.
