Operatives of the Zone 12 Intelligence Unit of the Nigerian Police Force have arrested five suspects found with human eyes and suspected ritual materials in Bauchi State.

A statement by the Zone 12 Public Relations Officer, SP Jalige Mohammad, named the suspects as Abdullahi Idris, Sani Haruna, Auwal Umar, Abubakar Yusuf and Sharu Sale.According to the statement, the suspects were arrested with several exhibits, including two human eyes, white and red cloth, and other items believed to be intended for money ritual purposes.

The suspects are currently in police custody and undergoing interrogation, Mohammad said, adding that investigations are ongoing to establish further facts about the case, identify possible accomplices, and trace the source of the recovered exhibits.

He said the suspects would be charged to court on completion of investigations. The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of the zone condemned the act and urged parents, guardians and members of the public to remain vigilant, while calling on citizens to promptly report suspicious persons or activities to the nearest police formation.

The AIG reassured residents of the command’s commitment to ridding the zone of criminal elements and protecting lives and property.
