The All Progressives Congress (APC) has confirmed President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima as its presidential ticket for the 2027 general election, putting an end to weeks of speculation over the running mate slot.
The party formally submitted the names of both candidates for the poll. Speaking to journalists in Abuja after the nomination forms were received, APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka said the party was confident of retaining power in 2027.
Following the announcement at a stakeholders’ meeting, Shettima visited President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa for a closed-door meeting, where he expressed appreciation for being retained on the ticket.
The decision ends months of speculation over Tinubu’s running mate and reflects the APC’s confidence in the pairing that won the 2023 presidential election.
