Despite his status as a veteran in the Nigerian music industry, Olamide has admitted that the spotlight still comes with a significant amount of anxiety.

The “Baddo” crooner recently sat down with YouTuber Korty EO to discuss the psychological toll of his career, revealing that his pre-performance jitters are rooted in traumatic encounters during past shows. According to the rapper, the unpredictability of live crowds has left him feeling vulnerable.

He detailed specific instances where fans crossed boundaries, physically reaching out to snatch his personal belongings while he was in the middle of a set. These “horrible” experiences have created a lasting sense of apprehension whenever he prepares to step out in front of an audience.
“I get nervous every time I am going on the stage. I have had too many crazy experiences while performing.

Someone from nowhere will just come and grab your chain or your hat, you don’t even know what to expect,” he explained.

Olamide noted that these moments were not just distractions but were genuinely scary, leading to a lingering fear of what might happen during future performances.

While he remains a powerhouse in the Afrobeats scene, his revelation highlights the often-overlooked security and mental health challenges faced by top-tier artists.
