British academic and sociologist Professor Jason Arday, who resigned from the University of Cambridge last week amid allegations of plagiarism and questions surrounding aspects of his professional history, has been found dead at his home in south London. The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has issued an advisory warning of possible flash floods in 13 states between August 11 and 20. At least 10 police officers, 17 suspected bandits and two civilians have been killed in clashes between security forces and an armed gang in northwestern Nigeria, police said on Tuesday.
