Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, on Monday honoured an invitation from the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) as part of an ongoing investigation into the activities of an alleged fake agency, the Presidential Fiscal Intelligence and Public Complaints Commission (PFIPC).
His legal counsel, Jiti Ogunye, said in a statement that Gbajabiamila appeared before the anti-graft agency in compliance with the president’s directive and in cooperation with the investigation. He arrived at ICPC headquarters at about 3:00 p.m., where he gave testimony and answered investigators’ questions.
“In full cooperation with the ICPC, acting as directed by the President of Nigeria, I hereby confirm that my client… responded to the invitation… and appeared at about 15:00hrs on Monday, July 20, 2026,” Ogunye said, adding that his client had since returned to his official duties.
The probe centres on the PFIPC, which authorities have described as an unauthorised entity operating under the guise of a government agency. Neither the Presidency nor the ICPC had commented further as of the time of filing.
