Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has disclosed that his personal monthly spending in Nigeria ranges between $200,000 and $300,000, excluding expenses for his wife, household bills, jewellery, and luxury cars.
The singer made the disclosure during a live session on Davrel Twitch, where he explained that his spending pattern shifts significantly depending on his location.
According to him, he spends considerably less in the United States, where he lives quietly with his wife and children, compared to Nigeria, where his lifestyle becomes noticeably more extravagant.
“I actually spend less in Yankee because I live with just me, my wife and my kids,” he said. “When I’m around, I spend a lot more. We are balling every day.”
When pressed for a specific figure, Davido gave an estimate of $200,000 to $300,000 monthly, clarifying that the amount excludes major expenditures such as his home and jewellery or vehicle purchases.
“I can’t tell you how much, but I can tell you like 300. Normally, probably like 200 to 300,” he added. “This is minus my wife and the house… that one is closed. Minus buying jewellery or buying car.”
The disclosure comes days after the singer revealed plans to build a mental health therapy centre for formerly popular and successful celebrities, saying he wants to support people who have experienced fame and success but now need help coping afterward.
